10 Landscaping Companies in Spokane, Washington
Compare 10 Spokane landscaping companies and learn what to ask about irrigation, soil, winter damage, design and yard maintenance
September 24, 2026
By Diego Navarro

A Spokane homeowner should compare these 10 landscaping companies by project type, irrigation experience, maintenance plans and winter scheduling. Hiring one usually means a site visit, written scope, drainage or soil discussion, planting and hardscape work, then a plan for watering and upkeep through Spokane’s dry summers.
Spokane yards have to handle cold winters, freeze-thaw cycles and hot, dry summers that can expose weak irrigation fast. A landscaper should understand the timing for planting, pruning and dormant-season work, not just make a bed look good in May.
Soil varies across the area, with sandy ground, compacted fill and heavier pockets that drain differently. Grading matters too, because spring melt and heavy rain will find the low spot you hoped would behave.
Ask about sprinkler coverage, water-wise planting, lawn repair, snow and winter damage, and the depth of any hardscape base. A pretty plan that cannot survive August is just an expensive farewell.
Who are the best landscaping companies in Spokane?
Ordered by Google rating weighted against the number of ratings, so a long record of good work outranks a handful of perfect scores. This is a ranking of public feedback, not an endorsement.

Our Community had 9 huge cottonwood trees that needed to come down. A crew of 3 came out and handled them in a day!!!! They also did a superb job cleaning up. It was amazing to watch them work like a well oiled machine. Sam's will forever have our Community's business! Thank you Enoch!!

A large pine tree fell on top of our barn on a Thursday night. I called Sam's on Friday. They came to our farm on Saturday morning with a hardworking and efficient full crew including a crane to remove the tree. They had the tree removed, limbed, and all the debris entirely cleaned up in one-and-a half hours. They even hand raked small debris in one of our pastures! Tiffany, from the office, kept in constant touch with us by both email and text so we were never in doubt about the service Sam's was providing. We recommended them to our neighbors and Sam's provided service to them within a week.

Sam's removed a 100ft tree from my neighbors property that was going to fall and destroy our houses any day. They came weeks earlier than expected, during a wind storm which was worrisome, yet this was no problem for these skilled professionals! This project took no longer than 2 hrs if that. They were extremely friendly and courteous and left the wood chips for us to use as mulch in our garden! Do yourself a favor and just call Sam's. Half the price of all the others! Thanks fellas!

Dan and I were so impressed with our Greenscape crew Cody, Mike, Kasey and Ryan. They were excellent communicators and helped us achieve our Spokanescape vision. They even let me join in on the fun which is just what a gardener wants. I encourage anyone interested in a yard renovation to contact Greenscape.
Amy Heinen, 4 months ago
I hired Greenscape to improve drainage behind two rock retaining walls. The work took a day and half. Probably because of a holiday, there was a different crew working the second day. This led to some miscommunication about the project scope. I met with the project manager who quickly arranged to have a crew return and make corrections. The end result was excellent, and I appreciated their willingness to make the adjustments. I am very pleased with the results.

Kody and Juan did a terrific job on our front yard landscaping project. They were meticulous about every detail. Our job required difficult digging and revision of our watering system. They both went way beyond my expectations, and double checked everything. I am delighted with their work product and would use them again. A big THANK YOU to both of them.

Was here a week ago to pick up some sod and found that their selection and prices were great. Came back today to pick up some flowers for the common area and we were very pleased with what we got. Lindsay L was super helpful and made sure that we were happy with our selection. We also picked up a couple of jars of candied jalapeños and sweet fire bread and butter pickles. Can’t wait to come back to pick up our water feature.

Hardworking Professional Knowledgeable Fair Jacob & Jedidiah listened to our plans to redo 80% of our entire yard replacing 1/2 with zeroscape. They came up with a plan to minimize maintenance and yet create flow and softness using bark beds where we can add plants in the future. Our weed filled lawn is now a neat tidy yard with a flowing walkway path. Jedidiah did such a great job and was always available to answer any questions we had. He let us know what to expect per day so we never had to guess or worry. Great company to know and work with.
gail enomoto-souza, 3 months ago
What they accomplished in record time was a environment facelift, booty lift, and massive reconstructive surgery on a hideous monstrosity that previous owners did with positive minds and youtube (and no talent) to guide them into what became my horrific before shots. We now have a nice, low maintenance, beautiful rock garden that we can put some decorations into that will make my life easier, and which switched from being an eyesore to a desirable place in our yard. These guys took my vague vision, my wife's creativity with artsy stuff, and turned it into something spectacular. Furthermore, their price was extremely reasonable. Absolutely use them again. Perfect definition of a small business owner doing their best for their customers.

The crew at Crystal Peak was fantastic from start to finish, going above and beyond! Professional assessment, helpful recommendations, willing to work with me on the scope of work, and provided a well priced bid for driveway work and making the fire pit area in my back yard usable. The before and after pics of the fire pit tell the quality of work story by themselves, I’m looking forward to using it

Red Moose Landscape Maintenance has been excellent to work with. Their team is responsive, professional, and consistently delivers high-quality results across irrigation, lawn care, and overall yard maintenance. Pricing is fair, communication is clear, and the work speaks for itself. Highly recommend to anyone in the Spokane area looking for dependable landscaping services.

We have been using Red Moose for over a year now after our grass was nearly dying due to a previous fertilizing company, and now our lawn and plants look amazing. We’ve used them for a couple of yard projects, too, and they are so incredibly knowledgeable and thorough in their work. We can’t recommend them enough.

Amazing service! Easy scheduling, fast and efficient. Takes so much off my plate as a homeowner to know my yard is ready for winter. Very trustworthy as well. I had to take a call for work and Damien kindly shut my garage door for me and texted me that everything was secure. Rare to find such quality and thoughtful service. Looking forward to having Supernova care for our yard year round! Update: no surprise, but continued excellent service! This season they came out to give our yard a good mow and de-thatching. It was incredible how much they got up and our yard is already looking amazing! Best in Spokane and our go to. Get on their schedule! You won’t regret it!

I've had the honor of working with Supernova Landscaping on a few projects, and I have to say, these guys are some of the best in town. They are professional and responsible, and they listen intently to exactly what the customer is asking. The work is done quickly and cleanly, and they never leave a mess. Whether you are looking for new flower beds, some sod, or even new sprinklers, you should be giving Damien a call to get a bid from Supernova Landscaping. If you don't, you're missing out!

I can't say enough good things about Damien and his team. They are truly the best of the best. If you were looking for a professional landscaping company that will be honest with you and brings the "it" factor, these are the guys to go to. Not only will they take care of your property seasonally, but they also can assist with design and implementation of new landscape features or even upgrade your crime prevention posture through environmental design. As Spokane's premiere security service, Supernova Landscape is who we use when our clients need the best. Five stars, I can't recommend them enough.

What customers say:
Hiring Richard was one of the best investments we made in our home! We discussed some of our ideas and wants and he turned our yard into the most beautiful garden. His eye for design is spectacular. After seeing some of his work we knew he was the landscaper we wanted. He designed the entire yard. He’s an incredibly hard worker, with attention to detail, and passionate about what he does. Often stopping by to check on the garden. We ended up replacing all of our front yard grass with plants and I know it seemed bold at first but it was the best decision ever! We now spend hours enjoying our beautiful yard and all the butterflies and birds it brings. We use to have an ugly boring yard and now we have a show stopper! We no longer waste time mowing a lawn every week, our watering bill is less now, and there is very little maintenance of our landscape because it was so thoughtfully planned by Richard. We really feel like we won the landscaping lottery with Richard. His pricing is reasonable, he came in under our budget, and he made our yard a beautiful piece of art!
S Walter, 3 years ago
Richard is dedicated, creative, and hard working. We had to landscape our entire backyard. He listened to our wants, formed a plan, and got right to work. Created a wonderful space for our kids to play, but a space that will grow to provide seclusion and space away from our neighbors. He also helped out installing a swing set on rough rocky soil. He also installed hard scapes with iron edging to provide a clean and distinctive separation of spaces.
Justin Seppi, a year ago
This was such an outstanding landscaping experience. Richard has a very kind, honest, and thoughtful demeanor and it was clear that he was there to intentionally craft something that would work for us and our space. He was willing to get creative with our budget and a yard that had been completely unmanageable. He worked so hard, treated the space with care, and tended to little details beyond expectation. He left us with something we can enjoy and easily care for, that functions in connection with the environment, and that will continue to grow into something more and more beautiful. I cannot speak highly enough about how safe and easy Richard was to work with, I would trust him with anything.

What customers say:
This family owned business more than met our wildest hopes and dreams creating a waterfall stream-bed with an alpine theme in a matter of 4 days. They put together the pieces left by another landscape crew that didn't know what they were doing and were eventually let go. The price was right, the courtesies and visual concerns were apparent as they carefully constructed the water feature piece by piece... a veritable pleasure to watch! I would highly recommend their services for anyone wanting to improve their outdoor landscaping dreams.
Reginald Jones, 11 months ago
I enjoyed working with Palmer Landscaping! They made an amazing putting green for us and it is so fun! The green features 3 lovely holes, a sand trap, and is surrounded by dogwood trees, azaleas, grasses, and junipers. They cleaned up the area beautifully and installed sod and sprinklers. Cole also made sure the sprinkler company came out and made all other necessary repairs.
Becky, a year ago
We couldn't be more excited about how beautiful our yard turned out. They listened to our ideas and came up with a design that reflected everything we asked for and in the budget we had. From the water feature, curbing, fireplace and all the gorgeous boulders we picked. It is absolutely stunning. Thank you for taking our ideas and turning it into something more beautiful than we could have expected!

How do you choose a landscaper in Spokane?
Start with the work itself. A company that designs and builds full landscapes may be a better fit for a patio, grading change or complete yard renovation, while a maintenance-focused provider may suit pruning, lawn care and recurring upkeep.
Ask for a written scope that identifies plant quantities, hardscape materials, irrigation changes, soil preparation, drainage work and cleanup. In Spokane, also ask how the plan handles freeze-thaw movement, summer watering and the timing of new plant installation. If the answer is foggy, the estimate probably is too.
Check whether the contractor will inspect the property before pricing the job, how change orders are handled, and who is responsible for permits if the work requires them. Get the maintenance expectations in writing, including watering during establishment and what happens if a plant or lawn area fails.
| Project type | Questions to ask | Spokane concern |
|---|---|---|
| Lawn replacement | Is grading, topsoil and irrigation included? | Compacted soil and uneven watering can leave new sod struggling in summer. |
| Planting design | Which plants fit the sun, soil and water available? | Cold winters and dry summers narrow the list of reliable choices. |
| Patio or walkway | What base depth and drainage plan will be used? | Freeze-thaw movement can shift poorly prepared hardscape. |
| Sprinkler work | Will coverage be tested by zone? | A timer cannot fix heads that miss half the lawn. |
| Ongoing maintenance | What visits and seasonal tasks are included? | Spring cleanup, pruning and summer watering need different schedules. |
Do not choose from a logo alone. Look for a clear process, realistic timing and a crew that can explain what the yard needs before discussing what it wants.
Frequently asked questions
How much does landscaping cost in Spokane?
The price depends on whether the work is maintenance, planting, lawn replacement, irrigation, grading or hardscaping. Ask for a written estimate that separates labor, materials, soil work, irrigation and cleanup rather than relying on a single broad total.
What is the best time to plant in Spokane?
Spring and early fall are often practical planting windows, but the right date depends on the plant, soil conditions and the risk of frost. A landscaper should give you a watering and establishment plan, especially before Spokane’s dry summer weather arrives.
Do Spokane landscaping companies install sprinkler systems?
Some do, and the listed services for one company include sprinkler installation. Confirm whether the contractor designs zones, checks pressure and coverage, adjusts the controller and provides a seasonal watering plan after installation.
What should I ask a Spokane landscaper before hiring?
Ask who handles design, grading, soil preparation, irrigation, permits, cleanup and ongoing maintenance. Also ask how the proposal addresses freeze-thaw movement, summer watering, plant replacement terms, scheduling and changes that could affect the final price.

Build for the winter, water for the summer, and do not let a handsome plan bully the soil.
