10 Top Landscaping Companies in Portland, Oregon
Find Portland’s 10 best landscaping companies for design, installation, and maintenance in every corner of the city
August 22, 2026
By Diego Navarro

Homeowners in Portland, Oregon should call a local landscaping company familiar with the region’s soil, climate, and plant choices. Hiring a landscaper here means working with professionals who know how to handle rain, moss, clay, and the quirks of Pacific Northwest yards. Expect a mix of design, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
Portland sits between the Willamette and the Cascades, and the ground here has its own ideas. Clay soils hold water through the winter, then dry out hard by mid-July. Moss shows up where you want grass, and every yard has a patch that never dries out and another that bakes in the sun.
You get a long growing season, but also weeds that never seem to quit and trees that drop something twelve months a year. Drainage is the first problem, not the last. Whether you want a rain garden, a patio that stays put, or just a lawn that survives a wet spring without turning to mud, you need a landscaper who knows what Portland yards actually do.
Who are the best landscaping companies in Portland?
Ordered by Google rating weighted against the number of ratings, so a long record of good work outranks a handful of perfect scores. This is a ranking of public feedback, not an endorsement.

We couldn't be happier with the work that Roberto and Roman did on our property, but also want to sing the praises of everyone involved. My husband met with Oleg to discuss what we wanted. We knew we needed 3 trees removed (2 of which were established in challenging spots) and that we wanted sod in the backyard. Oleg was full of additional ideas and wasn't shy about sharing them, which was much appreciated. Oleg also got the quote to us in absolute record time, which was awesome because we were headed into the busy season and wanted to move quickly on everything. Alberto was the project manager for our job and though we didn't see him much, he was pleasant to work with, responsive, and communicated well with both us and his team. Roberto and Roman were with us for 3 days. In that time, they managed to remove 3 trees, dig up and level the backyard, lay sod, prepare numerous areas and then fill them in with rover rock, clean up the front and side yards before laying mulch, haul away an amazing amount of stuff, and leave the property super clean despite the amount of dirt, mulch, sod, etc that was involved. They were extremely hard workers, very friendly, and respectful of both our property and the fact that we live on a narrow-ish city street surrounded by houses and businesses. The price was great for the work and materials required. We had reached out to numerous landscape companies. Most never got back to us or didn't do what we needed. The only other company that did come out for a quote took over a week to send it to us and the price was substantially higher (with less work, too, I think); the guy was also not very helpful or knowledgeable when he came out. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Simple Lawns for your big landscaping needs. We are 100% satisfied with everything!

We had Simple Lawns install turf and pavers to expand our patio area for us two years ago and were very pleased with their work and the finished project. So when we needed to replace the river rock edging due to a new pup who likes to eat rocks we reached out to them and we were not disappointed. David came out and did our estimating since he had done our first job and Alberto oversaw the job as the project manager. Roberto and Roman, were the two who came out and got the job done and they did a fantastic job. I can’t say enough about everyone that we dealt with and I know if we need more landscaping done, Simple Lawns is who we will call and David, Alberto, Roberto and Roman is who we will ask to have for the project.

Had Simple Lawns remove the existing lawn and install new sod in our multi level back yard. The entire experience was first class! From coordinating all the administrative details with Mike to onsite foreman Eduardo and his co worker prosecuting the work I have only the highest praise. If you need a capable, timely, efficient and effective you need to give Simple Lawns a call, you’ll be glad you did!

Had a great experience! Tim was very professional and has great communication. The crew who put our artificial turf in was awesome! The installation looks great and they cleaned everything up nicely. Our Tanky Boy is one happy pup with his new play area :). Thanks Drakes!!!

I was beyond pleased with the wonderful work that Drake's crew did! I had my backyard landscaped and replaced the grass area with turf. It looks amazing and my 2 chihuahuas that wouldn't even set foot in the muddy, wet grass during the Winter now LOVE to run around on the turf! It has made a huge difference in my dogs and our enjoyment of the backyard! The plantings look terrific and I can't wait for Spring to see everything blooming... Thank you to the crew that were so professional and respectful!

Excellent customer service. Juan was even here early. He was able to analyze everything, fix everything, and reprogram my system too. A lot had gone wrong with my irrigation system over the winter, and he was able to make things right. This seems like a great company and their communication is excellent too. My neighbor had recommended them to me and now I can see why.

Salvadore was professional, efficient and very polite. He was able to fix my broken pathway light back to normal! The office staff at Lewis is also amazing especially when communicating! I had a wonderful experience with Lewis Landscape!

I bought this house and had Lewis Landscape design and install a Koi pond with waterfalls. My main concern was pond depth. I met with Brad and he was very knowledgeable and answered all my concerns. The design even more beautiful than I had envisioned. Lewis built a beautiful flagstone patio which overlooks the entire pond. I was very impressed with Lewis Landscaping responsiveness, especially the attention Brad had given me with my numerous calls to him. The quote was very comprehensive and I was impressed that there were no additional costs at the end even though I made a few additions. I also use Lewis for my bi annual maintenance on my sprinkler systems. Once the pond and patio were completed I had Lewis update all of the landscaping lighting. I was originally concerned about the overall price because they were replacing the high end original lights. I spoke with Brad and he was able to reduce the price significantly by changing the lighting brand which was still comparable with the original lights. I would highly recommend Lewis landscape and will continue to use them in the future.

The staff and workers are all friendly. We needed to save up for our project so they held our quote for us for many months which was incredibly kind. Unfortunately, the goal of our project was to fill in a ditch between our retaining wall and our back fence, and that never happened. When we explained our goal to our estimator, our estimator recommended removing the retaining wall and filling the area with gravel-filled bricks the same style as our retaining wall. At least that's what we understood, and we liked that idea. On our estimate, it was all just called a "retaining wall" along the back fence. Not being too familiar with estimates, I didn't think anything of it. Fast forward to the project day. The crew was very friendly and kind. We checked in near what wound up being the end of the project, only to find out they took down our wall to replace it with... a wall. In the same place. The crew leader explained they couldn't remove the ditch; it wasn't possible; etc. That being said, it's a lovely wall. But we feel like quite the fools. It's not what we understood from the estimator. The crew lead told us they didn't use all the supplies so we may see a discount on our bill. Thank heavens the lead mentioned that. When I received the bill for project with no price difference, I asked. The office worker (also very kind) was quick to apologize and adjust the price. The difference was $1,000 which is an enormous sum of money for us. These folks seem very kind. The work they did was good if not what we wanted or expected. I just think communication may be an issue.

Quality work cleaning out flower beds, adding barkdust, pruning some tree branches overhanging fence line, laying rock and boulders alongside garage area. Crew doing work were friendly and did a great job. Also appreciated the flexibility of office staff, Shelly, when project scope had to be changed somewhat last minute. Overall great experience and would highly recommend their services.

We just had our hedges trimmed a few feet that wrap around our whole property. David, Adam, Jasper and Austin did a great job! It was a huge task involving our neighbors and we are all very happy with the work. The guys were nice, worked in the rain, cleaned up debris and went above and beyond trimming up the sides. Competitively priced, will definitely use again! Photos are from before and after

We hired Earthborn to install planter boxes and add a drip system to our current irrigation. Initially there were some concerns about the irrigation installation and the planter boxes, but they responded quickly and professionally. I was extremely impressed with Ben and his ability to troubleshoot and fix the irrigation issues. He also replaced several boards on the planter boxes. I’m very grateful for all the work he did.
Carrie Sailer, 3 months ago
We're very happy with the spring-time cleanup that Earthborn did on our front and backyards. We needed a big refresh and removal of some dead bushes, blackberries & holly. Ben came and did a thorough walkthrough of the property and worked with us on the estimate, and then returned to kickoff the project. The crew that did the work, Brian & B, were friendly, professional, and worked diligently to make sure that every detail was taken care of -- and then some! We are very happy with the results. Now we just need to maintain!

Update: Dan, the owner, contacted me today to discuss the situation. He sincerely apologized for the communication issues, and came by to see what was going on for himself. He offered to correct the patio, at no cost. He also offered to have someone pull out the remaining ivy tomorrow, also at no cost. We discussed it and agreed to the ivy, and he will haul away some remaining debris for free. My husband and I decided not to change the patio since it's a lot of work to fix. I was more concerned that it was a learning opportunity for his crew for next time they do similar work. So, because of his sincere apology and dedication to customer service, I'm updating my review to 5 stars. I really appreciate the effort to come out and take a look at the problem and make it right. This felt more like the 5 star treatment others received. Thanks, Dan! Original, for comparison: __________________ Be careful to read the contract thoroughly before approving it and letting them start. They didn't respond to any questions, through the phone or email, just sent me an invoice. An entire part of the yard wasn't taken care of, and we'll have to pay someone else to finish the work. The only reason they have two stars instead of one is because my husband liked the patio they started for us, although the angle is rotated away from the house. They were cheaper than the others, and I guess you really do get what you pay for. Beware.

We got a quote from Prestige to install a hardscaped circle patio and firepit in our backyard. The quoted price was much lower than we expected based on the other bids received, so we also had them install a hogwire fence around our garden boxes. While the quote was the least expensive of the three bids we got (we also got a discount for getting it done in the winter) the quality of the finished product was incredible, as was the level of service we received. The project was estimated to take 7 days total, and wound up only taking 5. Kelly was my primary contact from start (bidding) to finish (final walkthrough) and was wonderful to work with. It was also really nice to not be transferred from person to person throughout the process. The team that completed the work was a three man crew, and they were also great. They arrived and left on time, were very respectful of our property, and we're very friendly when we interacted as they got my opinion on things. Overall, I highly recommend this company for hardscaping and carpentry projects. We will definitely be using them again if need arises!

Kelly and the rest of the Prestige crew do great work! Contacted them after seeing their booth at a local H&G expo. They worked with me to make my landscape dreams happen while also staying aware of my budget. Even when a section of the project took a little extra effort, Kelly went above and beyond. Great communication throughout the process and a lovely backyard at the end, I couldn't be happier!

Tapped into Prestige after seeing some work in my neighborhood. The customer service was outstanding with a pre site visit, and many follow ups. My front yard needed some help for curb appeal so they planted my front yard landscaping, giving it a mix of color and texture, using an inspiration photo I provided. It blended beautifully with keeping trees and large shrubs in tact. Additionally, they cleaned up the backyard with more rock mulch and pavers. I was so happy with the very affordable price and super customer service by Kelly and his team. I will certainly have them out to do more.

We are so happy to choose Beavers's Landscape for planting the privacy tree line in our backyard. Bernardo and his team did an excellent job from start to finish. They were very friendly yet professional, easy to work with, answered all our questions, and did a beautiful careful planting. They went above and beyond caring our needs and requirements for this project...and are very reasonably priced. Crew also cleaned everything up afterward and left the backyard spotless. Highly recommend! and would definitely hire them again for our next project. Thank you Bernardo for all the hard work you and your team did for us...the backyard looks amazing! We'd have give an extra star in the ratings if there was an option :)

Worked with Bernardo from Beavers Landscape and Maintenance and my wife and I were extremely happy with the quality, honesty, and service provided. Bernardo was very patient, made sure we understood what they’ll be doing on the project, and listened to our needs. We had them put in new rain drains around our house, dry wells and a rain garden (pictured here). I would highly recommend working with Bernardo and his team.

My husband and I interviewed several different landscaping companies before starting our project, and we are so incredibly pleased that we selected Blessing Landscapes! We really valued working with a company that offered a complete, start-to-finish service. Having a design phase was incredibly important to me because we wanted to see our ideas on paper. Sarah Lowles did our design, providing both a physical paper copy and an emailed electronic version, which was so helpful. She truly listened to our wants and needs and implemented a beautiful plan, staying with us throughout the entire process from that initial layout to personally placing the location of the plants. The design elements they implemented turned out beautifully, including a gravel pad for our gazebo, stepping stones, and a stunning dry creek. They also handled our irrigation, which included making needed corrections to our existing system. The installation crew was absolutely top-notch. Our construction foreman, Hidilberto Camacho, went completely above and beyond our expectations. The crew's work ethic was incredible—they were extremely accommodating to all of our requests, deeply considerate, and made sure to clean up thoroughly every single day before leaving. Blessing Landscapes maintained outstanding communication throughout the entire project. Our yard is absolutely beautiful, and we could not be happier with our decision!

Blessing Landscape transformed our back yard into a beautiful garden. From start to finish we were impressed with their professionalism and artistry. We have wanted a change for many years but every time we tried to get a quote, we were given astronomically high prices, or were asked to deposit thousands of dollars for plans or designs. Blessing sent Sarah Lowles out for a look and she drafted up an estimate that showed us all our options from the basic up through the ‘cadillac’ version. She understood what we wanted and thoroughly discussed everything with us. Throughout the project she checked in to make sure everything was as expected. Hidilberto & Alejandro worked tirelessly to demo the back yard, lay down new pavers, install liners and pea gravel, install a new drip system, plant dozens of plants, and lay out stone pathways. They were professional, fast, and cleaned up at the end of each day so we could access the yard. Dave & Emily Dillon kept in touch throughout the project to make sure everything was on track. I highly recommend Blessing Landscape, we are delighted with the result. They subcontracted Cascade Fence & Deck who also did a brilliant job installing a fence, back stair, and custom covered structure.

Ricardo & Luis got the work done in a timely manner & the results are awesome. We look forward to continuing to work with Blessings in the future.

We hired K&G for Christmas light installation and the experience was absolutely 5 stars! The owner Gabe promptly, patiently, and kindly answered my many questions over Facebook Messenger (first time Christmas light family here 🙋♀️). Installation was scheduled within a week. The house looks amazing!! The price was very reasonable compared to other companies we reached out to, and the excellent customer service confirmed we made the right choice. Thank you so much!
Christie Wilson, 8 months ago
When we first hired this company for landscaping, the quality of the work was pretty good. However, scheduling was inconsistent, with service happening on random dates, which made it hard to plan. The bigger issue came when we moved and tried to transfer service to our new property. We reached out multiple times, including a follow-up email, and were told they would get back to us “when they have time.” It has now been two months with no response or update. The work itself was fine, but the lack of communication and reliability ultimately led us to stop using their services
Kimberly, 8 months ago
K&G has been absolutely incredible to work with! From my very first inquiry through a Facebook ad to the final install, the entire process was smooth, professional, and friendly. The lights look amazing, festive, clean, and better than what I envisioned. Their pricing is super reasonable compared to others I looked into. I truly wish I could give more than 5 stars. I 100% recommend K&G for your yearly Christmas light installation!

I appreciated the clear and prompt communication from the project manager Adam as well as the skillful work of Guillermo, Misael, Victor, Candido and Stetson. How do you choose a landscaper in Portland?
Finding the right landscaper in Portland means looking for someone who knows how to build with clay soil, manage drainage, and choose plants that can handle both wet winters and dry summers. Ask about experience with local conditions, especially rain gardens, native plants, and hardscape installation on ground that moves. Check for clear contracts, good communication, and a willingness to talk through options, not just sell you on a plan. Portland has plenty of companies, but not all of them will listen or adjust to your actual site, so start with a clear idea of your priorities and ask direct questions about past projects like yours.
