In Laredo, homeowners usually need a landscaper who can handle heat, irrigation, drainage, and plants that survive long dry stretches. Hiring one means getting a site visit, a plan, and work that fits your soil instead of fighting it.

Laredo yards live in a hard climate. The heat is real, the sun is mean, and a plant that looks fine in April can be cooked by August if the irrigation is off by even a little.

The soil can be caliche, clay, or a mix that drains like a grudge. That means roots need room, water has to be managed on purpose, and patios, beds, and trees need to be set up for movement, not optimism.

A good landscaping company in Laredo should understand drought, drainage, native and heat-tough plants, and how to keep a yard looking finished without asking it to do something impossible. This list is a starting point.

Who are the best landscaping companies in Laredo?

Ordered by Google rating weighted against the number of ratings, so a long record of good work outranks a handful of perfect scores. This is a ranking of public feedback, not an endorsement.

1. Fieldbrooks

5.0 stars from 53 Google reviews.

Fieldbrooks works with stone drawn from seven quarry locations and offers more than fifteen materials, including onyx, travertine, and marble. Their approach centers on choosing each block for its veining, weight, and character, then shaping the work so the material itself leads the final result.

What customers say:

Building with Fieldbrooks was such a wonderful experience. They made all of our pool dreams come true! We will definitely be returning with them in the next few years to continue building our backyard oasis. They accommodated every request, answered every question, did high quality work, and finished quick. Beyond all of that, they were nice, courteous, clean, and patient! All around beautiful work!

Amazing work from Mr Diaz and Team CDP. The whole process was easy and exciting. Our pool took 3 weeks from start to finish. You pay as he is completing certain steps so you never have to give all the money upfront which makes you more comfortable throughout the process. He quickly responds to all communications and corrects any issues/delays that may be occurring in the building process. Definitely a trustworthy person and his team is amazing. Couldn’t be happier. He specializes in pools and palapa but does other work as well. Highly recommend for all of your building needs. Update one year later: Recently added a pool heater and equipment relocation done by Mr. Diaz. His work and response times still remain the same. Still very efficient and continues to complete projects within the promised time frame. Highly recommended.

Thank you Mr. Diaz and may god bless you always! 🩵

2. Yardart Garden Center

4.7 stars from 67 Google reviews.

Yardart Garden Center focuses on making outdoor spaces both attractive and useful. They emphasize quality products and customer service for people building the kind of garden that fits their yard and their life.

What customers say:

Great selection of plants and every plant that I have purchased from them has thrived amazingly. Their staff is very helpful and attentive and know what they are talking about. Here is a picture of a beautiful Snake plant I purchased from them a few months back and just repotted. Only place I would go to in Laredo for my gardening needs.

Jeffrey Alexander, 8 months ago

Extremely over priced for what is being sold there. I checked out the other nurseries in town and found the same exact plants for half the price. on top of that when i decided to check out and pay for the few plants i purchased the owner "accidentally" overcharged me $70 and when i told him there must be an error he kept saying no until he checked again and admitted to over charging me. I understand the location of this establishment is in the wealthier side of laredo and they probably over charge all their customers all the time but this place needs to appeal to the rest of laredo instead of the few wealthy customers stopping by to purchase over priced plants that are found in other local nurseries for half the price. overall just over rated and very high prices

This is hands down the best garden center around! The plants are incredibly healthy, the selection is fantastic, and the staff is genuinely knowledgeable and friendly. It's a truly inspiring place to shop.

3. Laredo's Best Landscapers

4.8 stars from 33 Google reviews.

Laredo's Best Landscapers offers lawn care centered on bringing tired yards back to life. Their work includes mowing and weed eating, with attention aimed at keeping outdoor areas neat and well maintained.

What customers say:

I have 3 tall palm trees that needed trimming big time. Not only did they give me a reasonable quote quickly, they came out to work the next day and got the job done when they said they would. My trees look great and I had no issues to report. The other thing I want to emphasize is the communication I had with them. I left a message about what I needed done and they got back to me quickly. Not only that but they kept me informed on when they were heading over, when they were close, and how the work was going along. I will be hiring them again for other landscaping projects I have for sure!

Laredo best landscapers really lives up to their name. I initially booked them to do yard-work for my mom, but i brought them back to build this side fence that she’d been wanting for years. I’d give them 10 stars if that was an option. I guarantee that no one has better prices for such quality work, trust me I’ve checked!

I contacted them to get help with my lawn, they answered and told me to send a picture of my lawn via text for better service which I did and i just got ghosted. No help or answer til this day. Do not recommend them.

juan gamez, 3 weeks ago

Purchased San Agustin grass. Healthy looking, fast service, GREAT PRICE

Juan Neira, 5 months ago

Roy installed a sprinkler system for my rather large front yard (a corner lot). He began right away, worked consistently on it almost every day until it was finished, slowed only by tardy City inspectors). Too many times contractors make promises that they fail to honor (e.g. when they will show up, when they will finish the job, etc. ). Not Roy. He keeps his word. He is also excellent in following up to make requested adjustments. All in all, I enjoyed working with him. Since writing this I regrettably need to modify my recommendation. As time passed, it has become evident that he and his crew took short cuts in installing our sprinkler system. He did not lay the pipes 12-18” deep as he should have but more like 6” and even less in places. Wiring was not encased in protective pipes but laid in the dirt ( and shallowly too). I have called him to fix this and he has come and done a little but has not solved the problem.

Carmen Viladrosa, 5 months ago

I’ve been a customer of LG Nursery for over 10 years. The owner has the best prices in town! If you are currently in the market for palm trees, potted plants, grass, etc, stop by LG Nursery and compare prices; you won’t be disappointed! The owner met with us on a Sunday, as we purchased two large foxtail palm trees, two smaller palm trees , and eight Ixora potted plants. I highly recommend this nursery for their wonderful customer service and quality palm trees and plants. — Mrs. J. Tobar-Sanchez

This place was a huge disappointment. I spent $660 on Bermuda sod and got nothing but bad advice, surprise charges, and sloppy work. I went in to buy a pallet of sod ($240 per pallet) and asked for guidance since I wasn’t familiar with the installation process. The owner’s sister confidently explained that I should water the soil before and after installation and continue watering twice a day. She claimed that “unlike other nurseries, they did their homework,” implying they were more knowledgeable. When I called the owner a couple of days later to ask about installation, he quoted $150 to level the ground and remove a few weeds. I agreed. However, when I arrived to pick up the sod, I was told there would be an extra $30 delivery fee — something that hadn’t been mentioned. I offered to use my own truck, but the owner’s sister insisted the worker should deliver it since he’d be coming to install it anyway. I ended up paying nearly $200 extra, including grubworm poison the owner recommended. When the installer arrived, he began laying sod directly onto the unprepared ground — no leveling, no weed removal — even though that was what I had paid for. I had to call the owner to complain and told him I didn’t pay almost $200 extra for him to just plop it onto the ground. Only then did the worker begin prepping the yard. He came completely unprepared, and I had to lend him tools. He only prepped half the yard, even though I was led to believe the entire area would be done. After the minimal prep, he started laying sod. When I reminded him to water the soil first, as instructed, he brushed it off, saying it was “the same thing.” Then, when I went to grab the spreader for the grubworm poison, I caught him applying it by hand — despite the owner specifically saying not to. Within 2 days, the sod began dying, despite following their watering instructions. After doing my own research, I learned it needed to be watered four times a day to properly establish roots. When I brought this up, I was told the grass was dying because I “wasn’t supposed to use poison” and it “needed more water” — completely contradicting the advice I was originally given. I ended up installing the second pallet myself, only to find it was infested with fire ants — so bad that my husband and I got bit while laying it down. This, after being assured their products were “top quality.” Now I’m looking at my grass we spent $660 on and it looks dead.

How do you choose a landscaper in Laredo?

Choosing a landscaper in Laredo starts with the basics: what problem needs fixing, how much sun the yard gets, and whether the ground drains or holds water after a storm. A solid company should be able to talk through irrigation, plant selection, grading, and maintenance without pretending every yard is the same.

If a front yard faces afternoon sun, needs new sod, and has shallow soil over hard ground, the work should be planned for that reality. If the issue is palm care, pest control, or ongoing mowing, the scope should be narrow and clear. Ask for a walkthrough and a written scope so the job matches the yard.

What to ask Why it matters in Laredo Good sign
How do you handle drainage and runoff? Heavy rain can pool fast, then disappear and leave hard soil behind. They mention grading, soil prep, or drainage solutions.
What plants do you use in full sun? Afternoon heat can burn weak selections. They name heat-tough, drought-aware plants.
Do you work with irrigation schedules? Water needs change fast in South Texas. They talk about timers, zones, or drip systems.
Will you maintain the yard after install? New landscapes need follow-up to settle in. They explain mowing, pruning, or seasonal upkeep.

The best fit is usually the company that listens first and promises less, then explains how the yard will survive the next hot month. That is the job.

Frequently asked questions

What landscaping services are most useful in Laredo, Texas?

Irrigation work, drought-tolerant planting, sod installation, mowing, weed control, drainage fixes, and palm or tree care are common needs. The heat and soil here make water management a bigger deal than in milder places.

How do I know if a landscaper understands Laredo soil?

They should be able to talk plainly about clay, caliche, drainage, and root space. If they mention soil prep, grading, or drip irrigation without being pushed, that is a good sign.

Should I choose native plants for a Laredo yard?

Often, yes. Heat-tough and drought-aware plants usually hold up better and need less water. The right choice still depends on sun exposure, soil depth, and whether the spot gets runoff or stays dry.

How often should a landscaped yard be watered in Laredo?

It depends on the plant, season, and soil, but a timer or drip system is often part of the answer. In summer, the yard usually needs a more careful schedule than people expect, because this heat does not negotiate.
