Top 10 Landscaping Companies in Fort Wayne, Indiana
A directory of the 10 best landscaping companies serving Fort Wayne, Indiana homeowners
September 16, 2026
By Diego Navarro

Homeowners in Fort Wayne, Indiana looking to hire a landscaper should start with a local company that knows the region’s soil, climate, and common yard issues. Hiring involves an initial consultation, a site assessment, and a clear contract covering scope, timeline, and cost. Choose a landscaper with local experience and strong references.
Fort Wayne sits in northeastern Indiana, where the winters are cold, the summers are humid, and the soil is mostly clay with patches of loam. If you have ever tried to dig a hole for a new tree and found your shovel bouncing off hardpan in July, you know what I mean. Drainage can be a problem in low spots, and the freeze-thaw cycle will test your patios and retaining walls every year.
Most homeowners here are fighting crabgrass, moles, and that patch in the backyard that never seems to dry out after a rain. Whether you want a new patio, better curb appeal, or just someone to keep the lawn in check, it pays to work with a landscaper who knows what Indiana weather can do. These companies have built their reputations on handling the same yards you see out your window.
Who are the best landscaping companies in Fort Wayne?
Ordered by Google rating weighted against the number of ratings, so a long record of good work outranks a handful of perfect scores. This is a ranking of public feedback, not an endorsement.

What customers say:
Slightly more expensive than a couple local quotes, but well worth it. Brenden was a great sales agent and stayed in touch from start to finish of our project. The day of the project the crew was on time, communication was fantastic, they cleaned up well, hardly knew we had work done. I’m very happy with the concrete borders and the ease of lawn care since installation. We plan to have additional areas completed on our property in the future.

AE Landscape is the real deal!! Our yard has been transformed (see pics) I included a before pic as well. These guys streamlined the whole process. Very efficient and clean!! Nothing to do but grab a drink and relax while enjoying your new yard.

We were trying to decide what to do with landscaping in front & side of our house when a video for AE Landscape Borders popped up on Facebook. I liked the looks & the fact it was long lasting. Once contacted, we met within a few days to get more information & once decided to move forward, had a start date. Installation day, AE workers were efficient and had it done in a couple of hours. When finished they cleaned up and left the site as they found it. The border looks awesome and we've had quite a few positive comments from family and friends. I've uploaded before and after pictures. It's not mulched yet as we chose to do our own mulching. We'd definitely recommend AE Landscape Borders.

What customers say:
First, I want to say I truly like summit and appreciate their selection/pricing and typically their customer service. However, we recently completed a large project and they utterly dropped the ball. As our final choice on a nearly year long project, we went with cut limestone for the bench seats on our patio. We realize this is a porous, natural stone. But when they cut it they placed it face down on pallets before delivery. It sat this way for a week while awaiting delivery. This caused two issues. First, it became discolored due to contact with the wood. Second it was scratched by nails in the wood. When we made them aware of these issues they ignored us and tried to blame us. We honestly didn't want a refund or discount, just an apology. We were shocked, after having been loyal customers for over a decade, to have every excuse possible thrown at us rather than just saying sorry. They said they would send someone out to see if there was anything that could be done to help the discoloring but no one ever came. I recommend using them for your home and landscape needs because we have had far more good transactions than bad. But I am still beyond disappointed with this experience.

I just want to put a good word out for summit city landscaping. In the world we live in it’s hard to find good customer service and this place still offers it. I have done business with them before but not a big customer at all. They still treat me as if I’m important. Thank you for remaining open and I appreciate all you do for me and your customers.

Great selection, good pricing, top notch service! Parked the car and walked through the gate and immediately was met by someone to help direct me to the area i needed and walked me through areas and options. Gave him rough measurements and was very accurate on the amount of rock needed. Purchased 1 ton of tennessee flagstone, 1 yard of cracked river rock, metal edging, and weed mats to make it my one stop shop. Very happy with my experience, the product and selection, and pricing. Highly recommend!

Rowan team does high quality work, and Curtis is a good man to work with. Very accommodating to requests for tailoring the plan. Not cheap but cost came in at original estimate for the original plan. Redid entire front plant landscape and half the back, layout looks real nice. Cant wait to see new plants bloom!

We had a wonderful experience working with Rowen Landscaping on our stamped concrete patio and landscaping. They are very professional from start to finish. Their software system allowed us to see exactly what we were designing. Natalie was very receptive, patient and responsive to any changes we made throughout the project. And communication was constant and consistent from start to finish, which we really appreciate. Justin and his team did an amazing job on the landscaping. They were very respectful and receptive to any tweeks we made while they were at our house. We will definitely call Rowen again for our next project.
Lisa Wintrow, 3 months ago
We asked Curtis and Natalie to design significant landscaping around our new in-ground pool. We gave them a budget and complete design control and they hit it out of park selecting items that worked well with our sloping yard beyond the pool area. The team of installers did a great job and always working around our busy household. I often watched Curtis' team working together to give significant thought about how the landscaping looked from a distance. They clearly cared very much about their work, like a piece of art. As you can see from the pics, this was a considerable project but we would recommend Rowan for ANY landscaping needs. Thanks again to their whole team!!

Thank Vision Scapes for making my garden dreams come true! Very professional, kind, and hard working crews! From the design to installation, I couldn't be more pleased. The team that created and installed my garden and landscape were very reliable and always showed up with a smile! I felt the price was very fair with no surprise charges at the end. I have also been using Vision Scapes lawn mowing and fertilization services for several years. Again, very hard working, reliable, and kind professionals! They treat my property with great care and consideration. A+++++ Company with superb customer service. Keep up the outstanding work!

Did seeding on our bald areas and around new construction. Added river rock around entire property and planted some simple bushes around driveway park. Replaced first piece of flagstone we were unhappy with the shape of with beautiful new piece that sits nicely among rocks. Kept landscaping simple and low maintenance for my aging husband and me. Worked independently were friendly and got the job done in timely manner. They were a great team to work with. We are very pleased with the outcome.

The team Vision Scapes knew just what we needed to do to make our overgrown landscape beds look beautiful again. We had tried to take care of the beds ourselves, but each year, the job was harder than we planned and the beds didn't look as nice as we wanted them to. Kristi and Mark truly listened to our goals and priorities and made valuable recommendation for the services we needed, based on their years of experience working with a wide variety of clients. We were very pleased with the time and care that Brian, Zach, Issac and the other Vision Scapes crew members devoted trimming, edging, weeding, and spreading mulch and wood chips to make each landscape bed look just the way we hoped they would. These guys worked so hard and were very professional. They knew just what to do and how to care for each type of scrub and flower. We are so grateful for their help. We look forward to having Vision Scapes and Lawnganics care for our property for years to come.

George and his crew did a phenomenal job today with our front and back yard! They showed up in the mid morning with a crew of 5 and got the 2-day-quoted job done in 1! It looks fantastic. The guys worked really hard all day and were very responsive to our wishes and changes. Great price and value. He walked around our property about a week beforehand and guided us on what he could do for us. He delivered exactly what he promised and exceeded expectations. They hauled away all the debris and left the yard looking nice. We did a final walk around and made sure everything looked as we wanted it. George took very good care of us. You’ll be in good hands when you choose them to come take care of your landscaping! Holden and Brooke

Awful. I was in a pinch for landscape services and was quoted a very high premium. Trim bushes, clean beds, cut bed edges lay mulch. $2500 for a small subdivision yard requiring 3-4 yards. layed mulch first, but as little as could be gotten away with, several thin and bare spots. THEN trimmed only a handful of bushes and naturally could pick up all the debris from the new mulch. Never cut any of the beds. Voiced my disappointment and George, seemingly quite regretful said "he's a man of his word, he'll make it right" multiple times. After a couple weeks with no fix he suggested he would issue a partial refund. Then disappeared. a dozen calls, texts from me with no response. Not a good person. ZERO integrity.

I recently hired All Lawn Care Service & Landscaping LLC for a mulch installation and paid the required 50% deposit upfront. Over the following weeks, the owner, George Bourounis, scheduled the job six different times, but each appointment ended in a no-call, no-show. Every time I reached out, I was given another excuse and another promised date. After the sixth missed appointment, I requested a refund of my $800 deposit. At that point, communication immediately stopped, and my deposit was never returned, even after I sent a certified demand letter. I am considering taking this company to small claims court as they took my money and provided no services. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I hope sharing my experience helps others make an informed decision before hiring this company. Please save your hard earned money and go with a different landscaping company.

Eduardo Guzman and his wonderful team edged my beds and installed mulch at my property today. The job was beautifully done! I am a bit of a perfectionist with my landscaping, but as I've gotten older, a big mulching project is no longer something I want to tackle. I hesitated to hire the job out, but after seeing Guzman's work elsewhere in my neighborhood, I saw they do an excellent job. Eduardo was very responsive to the details I provided regarding my wishes for the outcome. He was thoughtful and conscientious to work with, and all of his communications were timely and professional. They also worked around my shrubs, perennials, and annuals without causing any damage. They even mowed the entire property, so everything is picture-perfect. Thank you! Highly recommended!

Amazing work! Eduardo and his crew were able to remove old mulch, install river rock all around the house, remove a bunch of bushes and trees, and plant new plants! We absolutely loved how friendly everyone one was and how perfect the job was done! Will recommend this company to everyone :)

What customers say:
The rose plant I got from there was sold with somekind of fungus/mold/disease and black spots. The guy who sold it to my friend to bring back to me told him that he had too many roses to care for and to cut some of the leaves and to use neem oil. I have been doing this for a month and a half. Neither one of us had ever had a rose plant before. I posted it online, and I still have the post. EVERYONE RESPONDED THAT IT HAD BLACK SPOTS HOW I LEARNED WHAT IT WAS! This should not have been sold. I could have brought a bush from menards that was bigger with the same amount I spent although it was not muticolor. It hurts to remove the leaves from the thorns. This is the first time I have garden, and my garden is huge. This is the only plant that is giving me trouble. I'm mad why this was acceptable to sell knowing this had black spots. Sure roses get it, but not buying it to someone who never had roses or even garden before that this was really crappy to do. I wasted a raised bed just for this one plant, the amount of the soil I used, and the cost of neem oil. And my time. My garden is huge showing only one side of it, and so far as a beginner, I think I am doing well. This plant was crap. Ok sooo to your response you literally just said you and any place will sell this with black spots! This literally needs to be explained before purchasing to someone that NEVER GARDENED! I think your missing the whole point here. I been picking leaves for a month and a half getting hurt by thorns. To me this is complete crap. All I do is try to get rid of this condition I brought it in, and I still can't. Sell something and just say, THIS IS THE CONDITION IT IS IN AND EVERYONE WILL SELL IT LIKE THIS AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO SO BUY IT LIKE THIS IF THIS IS HOW YOU ALWAYS WANT IT OR GET A DIFFERENT KIND! SERIOUSLY THIS MAKES ZERO SENSE IF YOU AND EVERY PLACE CAN NOT AVOID SELLING IT LIKE THIS THEN THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO! The whole point of the post! I wasted my money and time!

Our lawn care service abruptly closed down so we found Galbraith’s and were excited to work with them as they were quick to respond to our inquiry. It quickly became a mistake. From the first mow I was unimpressed as they missed a large portion of our lawn but came back to fix it, which was great. But from that point forward we experienced nothing but issues. Continuing to miss large portions, sloppy work (one mow they were packed and finished within 8 minutes and left several patches of missed grass), then the damage to my flower pot from a weed eater that was not disclosed to us, but we did receive an $8 “credit”, the final straw was when they ran their lawn mower into our fire pit and “attempted” to put it back together and we were never notified that our property was damaged until we saw it on our video footage. Just received a final bill in the mail for services. Maybe I should bill them for the damage to my property?

I was really looking forward to working with Galbraith for my lawn care services but that turned quickly into disappointment. Had my first official mow on Wednesday April 15th, which was done fairly well had no complaints.. I had a weekly mowing contract so come the following week I was waiting to see when they would come(which I know it had rained and things would be pushed back which I understood) I called Thursday the 23rd asking when they were going to be coming out and the lady on the phone let me know that I was on the schedule that day and that they would be out, no one showed up so I called again on Friday the 24th telling them how no one showed up and the lady told me that I was on the schedule and they would be on their way to me, I had asked if she had an estimated time on when they would be coming and she said she didn’t know and just that they would be on their way and hopefully the rain would hold off and told me if anything changes she would call and let me know, it ended up starting to rain so go figure they didn’t come out as well as zero communication letting me know they would not be out. So going into the weekend they don’t do any lawn care services so I ended up having to find someone else to come and mow my lawn. Ended up canceling my services with them and going with a new company who have actually shown up and done their job. All in all I would not recommend this company for lawn care services

Jorge abd his group did a fantastic job on my landscaping. Wow, what an improvement! It was a very hot July day and the crew worked hard. Highly recommended.

Jorge did a great job installing and refreshing the mulch beds in my yard. He was easy to communicate with, showed up as promised, and was transparent throughout the process. The beds came out clean and well defined, and he made sure everything looked good before wrapping up. I also appreciated that he followed up and came back to touch up areas after the initial install, which shows he stands behind his work. Overall, very satisfied with the quality and professionalism. I’d definitely recommend Jorge to anyone looking for landscaping or mulch work.
Pyo Min, 4 months ago
Jorge and his team did a fabulous job! They were trustworthy and hard working. They added limestone to our landscape trimmed our trees and plants. They got rid of an old satellite dish for us and the capstone of the project was replacing our mailbox! That mailbox exceeded our expectations. You can expect a fair price, value for your dollar and as you will see an exceptional job!

I contacted Joseph needing my yard re-leveled due to a sewage excavation leaving my yard a hot mess. He is super quick to respond to any phone calls, and within the week he came by to give me a quote. The price was more than reasonable and he was able to fit it in my budget! I bothered him with lots of confusing phone calls and emails and he was still very kind about it all, haha. He even came earlier to get my yard done so I could have it ready before my babies arrival in June! I am very thankful he went above and beyond and even sprayed my weeds which wasn’t even something I asked him to do. I would definitely recommend hiring this company! –posting before pictures (didn't get the best before photos but I guarantee it was horrible) and after pictures of the same day he fixed it. It was just done so I don’t have anything of the grass all grown in but it’s already looking so much better. And most importantly my yard is now flat!! ALSO I did not ask him to fill anything in the flower bed it is left empty on purpose and just asked him to re-edge.

Due to ongoing medical issues last year, my landscaping was in dire need of some help..Feeling overwhelmed, I gave Joe a call, he came out a few days later, was very open to what I needed done. Had an estimate 2 days later. He and his crew showed up a day before scheduled..I appreciate that...work was done in a timely manner and everything cleaned up and looking great. He trimmed a lot of bushes, cleaned out flower beds, sprayed area full of weeds and along my fence (which is so much easier to mow now), cleaned up my walkways and mulched a large flower bed and amongst my raised garden beds . Everything looks wonderful. Would definitely call again when needs refreshed in the future.

Pictures attached. This is the way my hillside was left when he was done. Before we hired him, I was told we had plenty of boulders and rocks to cover the hillsides and he could make them look beautiful with a bourder that was easy to mow around. (I had told him I knew where we could get more boulders but it was 80 miles away.) We were supposed to be thrilled and give him a 5 star rating. We have been going back and forth since early July. I have now called a liar, been told I change the area to be covered, and I would have to pay more for machinery and material to finish this. He would give me free labor. I feel I already paid for the labor and equipment to do the job right. A boulder rolled down the hill, hit the house and did minor damage to two bricks. He is denying it happen, he may not have realized it happen , but my wife and I were in the house when it hit and we feel lucky it wasn't worse.because he was running his machinery. He will say we tipped his workers and gave them compliments. We did, but it was for a different part of the project, removal of old bushes and replacing it with new plants and mulch. We never gave a compliment on the hillsides. In addition they planted a tree to deep. I dug it up and raised the root ball to proper depth, level with or slightly above grade. I made him aware, only for his benefit and I expected nothing for correcting it. He became defensive and said I didn't tell him. They weren't there at the time and I wanted to get the dirt off the trunk bark asap. Finally, he removed some landscaping inside a circle drive, leveled it and seeded with grass. It is rough to mow and 80% weeds. I kept it well watered for at least 6 weeks.

Ryan and his team did a great job for us. They were very professional and accomodating when we changed the plans a few times and when we had to reschedule at the last minute due to a personal conflict. Our project was to repair several issues in some existing flower beds around our house and make the area around a newly built dettached garage have a similar look. The area around the garage first needed to be graded on one side and dirt added to the other. Ryan suggested a nice variety of plants that would coordinate together and match the existing flowers/plants to produce a cohesive look on the property. We asked him to address an area next to the new driveway where there was a bit of a drop-off and he suggested using large boulders to form a visible break where the driveway ends. He also suggested boulders on the other side of the driveway, where we previously had flag-stone. Between the house and the new garage, it has been historically wet and muddy. Ryan brought in a truck load of large river rock and paver blocks to use in that area to help mitigate the water problems. Ryan trimmed a few shrubs that were out of control and freshened up a few areas around the house. There were also a couple existing areas where there were no plants at all, and Ryan addressed this by bringing in new plants that fit in with the original scheme. His team also removed a bunch of old mulch that was too deep and replaced it with the appropriate amount of new mulch. We are extremely happy with the results. The existing areas look so much better and the new plants around the house fit in perfectly with the original plan. The new planting area around the new garage is perfect and really helps to make it feel like the garage has always been there. The boulders make a great addition and we love the look. The paving blocks and the river rock have successfully mitigated the water issue and I am now able to walk to the new garage without having to trek through mud and standing water. We definitely recommend Ryan and his team.

How do you choose a landscaper in Fort Wayne?
Hiring a landscaper in Fort Wayne is about more than price. You want someone who understands Indiana clay, the way water moves across a flat lot, and which plants make it through a real winter. Ask to see photos of their work in town, not just stock images. Make sure they can explain how they fix drainage, what they do for soil prep, and how they handle snow if you need it.
Here is a quick comparison of what to look for:
| Feature | Local Landscaper | Out-of-Town Service |
|---|---|---|
| Knows local soil types | Yes | Rarely |
| Handles drainage | Usually | Sometimes |
| Winter maintenance | Yes | Unlikely |
| Plant selection | Suited to Indiana | Generic |
| References in Fort Wayne | Easy to check | Harder to verify |
Get two or three estimates, ask about warranties, and read the contract before you sign. The right company will walk your yard with you and talk through what works and what does not.
